When data must move between business units, partners, brokers, carriers, vendors, or regulators, traditional sharing creates risk: uncontrolled copies, unclear permissions, and poor auditability.

ChainLocker is designed to replace those brittle workflows with an architecture where:

  • Custody stays with the owner - clients maintain control over where data is stored and never have to surrender it to participate.
  • Sharing is accountable - terms and conditions of sharing can be immutably recorded on a ledger, and access can be revoked.

What ChainLocker enables

Secure corporate data storage (Vaults)

ChainLocker Vaults act as the main storage layer for stored/shared data, supporting on-prem or cloud patterns. Data is protected with AES-256 end-to-end encryption, and only participants in the transaction can decrypt it. Vaults can be implemented using file systems, cloud storage, IPFS, or web services that serve data.

Instant, bidirectional data exchange

Data artefacts are made available through lockers - permanent, bidirectional communication channels between one or more participants - enabling fast, controlled sharing while keeping visibility and verification limited to transaction participants.

Evidence-ready audit trails

Need to prove a transaction occurred? Piprate’s platform can provide cryptographic evidence to third parties such as regulators or legal counsel.

Enterprise integrations and deployment flexibility

ChainLocker is designed for enterprise environments where integration and infrastructure choices matter:

  • Hyperledger Fabric connector (enterprise-grade permissioned ledger integration)
  • AWS integration, including cloud-native deployment patterns
  • Backend-agnostic architecture - designed to run on multiple backends, including Hyperledger Fabric, Flow, and even AWS S3 storage or a relational database depending on the deployment model.
  • Integration-friendly tooling - flexible APIs and command-line tools built with enterprise deployment in mind.

How it works in practice

  1. Your systems connect securely via cryptographically secure APIs to a ChainLocker node.
  2. Data is stored encrypted in vaults you control; metadata and transaction state are handled through the platform’s modular architecture.
  3. Sharing events are recorded for transparency and accountability, with the ability to revoke access when needed.
  4. Provenance accumulates over time, making downstream analysis, compliance, and reuse dramatically easier.
